EDUCATION WEEK Wednesday May 1 Many varied issues concern students There are certain people who go against other people just because of the music you listen to or the people you look up to The bands I listen to of the music seems to be drug enhanced or the lyrics seem to be about drug trips or the people who wrote it or per form It have a drug problem But I understand that drugs are stupid to get involved with Some people put you down just because you dont listen to the same music or wear the same clothes they do You can hardly do something dif ferent without someone putting you down Strangely they often start the same thing For example a while ago a friend and I were the only ones in all of grade who liked skateboarding Everyone else said it was a wimpy sport A few weeks later everyone seemed to be getting right into it and buying new and flashy skateboards I dont really know why this gets me angry but I really don t think people should put down another person just because of the clothes music or another per son likes and dislikes I not saying people can change their mind but think about other peoples opinion and feelings before you make a comment Matt Gove We need freedom We dont need to be cooped up in schools We are here at our schools to learn not to be punished I myself am at the middle school level and I feel in my school Im being penalized We shouldnt have to have hall passes to get a drink or go to the bathroom We also shouldnt have to have notes to get off of school property Its bard enough to get kids to want to go to school these days But if you realize the way some of the rules are in schools you wouldnt blame us If these rules keep up no stu dent Is going to want to go to school at any age Im not saying to change all the rules because I understand that most of them are necessary For example some students in my class dont think its fair that you can ride your bike to school but you cant bring your skateboard There should also be equal rights between teachers and the students For instance you get yelled at for chewing gum but five minutes after you spit it out you look at the teacher that yelled at you and he or she is chewing it Now is that really fair I think some people need to realize that kids are human too By Stacey Brown Dear Reader I would like to impress upon the Browing racism in Ever since the two new developments at the far end of Georgetown came to pass I have noticed racism has brewing again Although some people have managed to look under the skin and find Incredibly decent people others have not thought of that possibility For those people out there who have yelled racist slogans at so meone no matter how simple the phrase they are racist people Or if youre watching TV and see so meone with different skin than you and immediately change the channel are quite racist as well If you are a person like this then I have absolutely no desire to meet you are any one like you and I dont believe anyone else would either Andrea ChlRholm Ctasi S3 Centennial Middle School Summer VVyc High a 13 noon Sircdeb Visa 2l55 Any agency will you a HOUSE with NATIONAL there a HOME for everyone 13L National Real Mountamview state Service
