finishes by some athletes At the Orangeville Invitational Megan Rowland competing in the five and six group led all her teammates placing first all- round by taking first in vault and bars and second beam and floor Chantelle Evans took se cond overall with firsts in beam and floor second bars and third vault In Tiny A Damela Sona plac ed second overall by taking se cond in vault and beam along with a third place finish in bars and eighth in floor Ashley Johnson took third with a first in bars second in floor fourth in beam and eighth in vault Jen Robertson placed fourth with a first in floor second in bars and sixth in vault and beam In Tiny B Bethan Elliot finished in sixth after placing fourth in bars sixth in vault seventh in beam and eighth in floor Sinead Irvine placed seventh in beam and bars as well as eighth in vault and floor but was unable to place Also at Orangeville the Ad vanced Recreational Group put in some competitive placings led by Jones who captured eighth overall Jones took fifth in vault and floor along with seventh m beam Kerry Wiltshire took third in beam and floor Kim Davidson took first in beam and seventh in bars placing ninth overall Tammy Dooley placed second in beam seventh in floor and eighth le vault to capture place Also competing were Julie Dugas Julie Brown Meredeth Sones and Sarah Scotford At the Guelph Saultos Invita Megan Rowland again stood out taking fourth allround after placing third in vault fourth in beam fifth in bars and seventh in floor Evans took sixth in floor but didnt place In Cadet A Jennifer Robert son placed sixth all round by tak ing fourth in vault sixth beam and seventh in bars and floor Ashley Johnson placed fourth in vault and seventh in beam and floor but didnt place as did Damela Sona who took fifth in vault Bethan Elliot and Sinead Irvine competed in Cadet B with Elliot taking eighth in vault and bars while Irvine placed seventh in bars Neither managed to place allround At the Toronto Gymnastics In ternational meet Ashley Johnson was the top Halton Hills member placing ninth all round with a fourth place in floor fifth in vault sixth in beam and 10th in bars Daniela Sona placed 10th all round with a fifth place finish in beam and sixth in bars Jennifer Robertson took 13th placing first in bars and eighth in beam The Advanced Recreational Group also competed highlighted by Burlington Spr ing Cup They train between six and hours per week Dave held the Lions back by making a run saving catch in the third and Alf Rees turned a double play to save another two from scoring The Lions kept it tight with some race defense from Dave at short and good pit ching from Paul Glen Steve Harlow and Bob Still each had two singles and Rick Currie cranked a double but it wasnt enough to top the who are now Kinsmen Club Elks Club Kinsmen attacked in the fourth inning with five runs as Bryan Whitteker and Paul Heron both slammed taters to lead their team to victory Whitteker poked out another homer in the sixth and fanned five batters over six innings to keep the Elks bats at bay and put the Kinsmens record at Elks Club showed some good defense from Ron Osborne and Ken McMullen
