see Harry Buster Hale presented with a Meritorious Ser vice Medal by Distnct Com Ron Elliott Past Presi dent Harry Brown received his Life Membership from District Commander Ron Elliott thai same evening From all your Comrades at Branch 120 con gratulations Buster and Harry and our very best wishes to you both on your awards Henry Buster Hale Comrade Henry Hale Comrade Hale has been a member of Branch No 120 for continuous years having joined in 1945 Legion Service 19651966 Executive member 2 years 1967 First Vice President 1 year 1968 President 2 years 1970 Past President 1 year Executive Member House Chairman 2 years 19791989 Service Officer 77 Main Street South Downtown Georgetown 8731470 Comrade Hale was an active worker in the Branch prior to 1965 but since 1965 he has provided ex ceptional service to the Legion During his term as President the branch conducted major and again the were renovated and much of the work was supervised by Comrade Hale Comrade Hale was employed by one of Georgetown major employers for many years before retiring and he provided between the Branch and the firm which was beneficial to the organization Although Comrade Hale was House Chairman for a few years he has willingly and faithfully gave of his time and effort in the maintenance of the Branch up to the present time and he is recognized as an invaluable member of the House Committee For 10 years Comrade Hale as served as Branch Service Of ficer providing much needed assistance to veterans and their families and it was recognized that he would make his time available whenever required and he could be relied upon to provide effective and confidential advice Through his leadership and devotion to any job undertaken Comrade Hale has provided ex ceptional service to the Branch and the Legion as a whole His ef forts far exceed that which could normally be expected of a member and he is a credit to the Branch and an inspiration to the other members of the Legion in particular the new associate members Comrade Hale assisted in the planning and erection of a Memorial Cairn in the local cemetery along with the Odd Fellows Service Organization During Hurricane Hazel Henry gave of his tune and talents to help those victims of the disaster He became a devoted member of the Red Cross Georgetown is known as the Home of the Little NHL and during the years of direct in of the Legion Branch No 120 Henry gave many hours of his time as a team coach and manager Comrade Hale was directly in when the International Plowing Match was held in Georgetown and was in the planning and operation of many of the events connected with the Match 1960s There are other things that Comrade Hate has done not as a member of an organization but as a caring person He helped raise money when Georgetown wanted to build a hospital and when they wanted a swimming pool He has taken patients to Prince Margaret Hospital for treatments because he knew them He was a volunteer am bulance driver and also took part in our local Santa Claus parade He was a member of a small steel drum band lhat went to the prk to play for the entertainment of anyone there Little things that individual do not amount to much but together mean a lot Harry Brown Comrade Harr Brown Comrade Brown has had con tinuous membership in Branch No since 1974 and has taken a very active part in Legion tivities Legion Service 1984 15 Executive Member Chairman Poppy and Youth Ed First Vice President President 1988 Past President Comrade Brown took an active part in the Poppy campaigns for several years before becoming Chairman in 1984 As chairman from 1984 through he con ducted very active campaigns exceeding the amount collected in previous campaigns During the same Com rade Brown was also responsible for the conduct of the Literary and Poster competitions which resulted in the Branch success in having awards presented at the Provincial and Dominion levels Comrade Brown has given will of his time and efforts in Legion service above that of other Legion members and he continues to assist in Poppy cam paigns even though he does not reside in the Georgetown area Comrade Brown has been
