reported stolen to Metro police officers Police say the chase ended when the driver and suspect fled on foot Police later witnessed the suspects walking down Road and ar rested four Toronto youths The caused the fire that left a centuryold home owned by Georgetown resident Mike Adams a blackened shell July 9 Hillsburgh Fire Chief Fred Cox who was investigating the blaze at the home situated three lots past the Erin Town Line on Concession has listed the cause as unknown and closed the investigation We just don know what caus ed the fire he said The house was so badly burned it could have been anything that started the fire Due to the seventy of the fire investigators couldnt even deter mine with any certainty where the fire started said Mr Cox We think it may have started in the porch at the back of the house but we re not sure said Chief Cox Though the exterior of the house is still standing Chief Cox has deemed the place dangerous and refuses to allow any firefighters entry into the building The house which was built in 1872 was owned by Remax sales representative Mike Adams who d recently purchased it from Enn Township resident Thomas Givens Re was renovating the home with the intent to move into it by August 9 It was just about all finished he said We had fixed about 70 per cent of the house up Now that the initial shock of losing the home has passed Mr Adams has even been able to find some humor In the situation The kitchen cupboards came in that day I paid for them and because the house was still being renovated I stored them in the shed on the property he said So now have a kitchen but no place to put it Mr Adams bad also con structed a large shed on the pro perty The new building along with an older shed and bain were kept watered by firefighters and were not damaged by the fire Now Mr Adams is trying to decide what hes going to do and where hell be living come August The Hillsburgh fire department estimated it will cost to rebuild the house while the Halton Fire Department which was also on the scene fighting the fire estimated damage at Both departments spent several hours at the scene but could do little to save the home which was engulfed in
