moderately damaged while her car was demolished She suffered minor injuries Truck demolished police say an Enn man s 1889 Ford truck was demolished when he rolled it into a ditch to avoid colliding with another car on 10th Line north of Sideroad July 31 Police say the man was driving south on the 10th Line when he saw another car heading towards him in the middle of the road He turned to the left to avoid a colli entered the ditch and rolled over The other car fled the scene The Erin man sustained minor injuries Police are still in Careless driving An Etobicoke man was taken to Georgetown and District Memorial Hospital July 23 with major injuries after the 1991 Toyota coupe he was driving struck a tree on Adamson St and Ole Pine Crest Road in Halton Hills Police say the man was southbound on Adamson when he lost control of the car struck the east shoulder rolled over struck a tree and landed in an upright position A passenger in the car sustained minimal injuries The driver Milton court hearing confirmed Sue Jorgenson CVCA tions Officer during an interview with the Herald Friday Mr Deforest was fined and ordered to remove the garage within days said Ms Jorgen son Mr Deforest applied to the CVCA last September to build a garage in the floodplain At that tune Mr Deforest was told to ob tain a structural assessment study explained Ms Jorgenson Mr Deforest went ahead and built the garage without commis the assessment she said Ms said Mr Deforest explained during the hearing he didn obtain a assessment because he couldn afford it The charge of improperly budding in the floodplain carries with a maximum SI fine Mr Deforest was only fined because the court took into ac count the expense of commission the structural assessment said Ms She said Mr Deforest still has a chance to keep the garage He is currently meeting with the CVCA about doing a structural assess ment on the garage said Ms Jorgenson If he completes the study and the garages construe tion conforms with the findings then it will be permitted to re main said Ms Jorgenson Although he will submit the re quired information Mr Deforest said Monday he can understand why it is necessary It snot fair he said Mr Deforest explained the new garage is replacing an old one When the old one was built similar studies weren required he said According to Mr Deforest the CVCA requires the study to en sure a
