Tragic accident A threeyearold Halton Hills boy Is dead after being run over by the front wheel of a tractor at a neighboring farm Saturday afternoon Halton Regional Police say Whiting who lived with his parents and two siblings on 10 Sideroad east of Hwy 25 died of internal chest and head injuries at Milton District Hospital at Saturday Police say who turned three Aug had gone bicycle riding with his five yearold brother and their friend on a neighbors laneway adjacent to the Whiting home The neighbor Jim Barrow encouraged children to ride on his laneway because he felt it was safer riding on the road say police While the boys were Mr Barrow was cutting grass and weeds alongside the wifh a Bush Hog pulled by a Fordson tractor Police say he was slowly cutting swaths up and down the when the older boys decided to ride through an uncut grassy area beside the laneway Police say the two older boys made it through the tall grass with their larger bicycles but somewhere along the trek Chesley didn and ended up either lying or sitting in the tall weeds and grass Police say the grass was approximately in dies tall while Chesley was only 39 inches tall Meanwhile Mr Barrow kept cutting while keeping an eye on the two older boys As he drove along he felt a bump under the left front tire of the tractor say police He immediately stopped the tractor and jumped down to find Chesley and his bicycle bet ween the front and rear tires Police say Mr Barrow picked up Chesley and ran with him to the Whiting home where decided to drive him to Milton District Hospital Chesley was conscious before they left but along the way he lost consciousness and never recovered say police A was done Sept and police say no inquest will be held into the death of the boy Constable Owen Gray who wrote
