John was born in England August 29th, 1927, and grew up in Nottingham. Predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Inge (nee Muller) of Silesia, in 2007. Father to Carole of Vancouver, Charles (Jennifer) of Acton, and Margaret Sharpe of Toronto. Grandfather to Christopher (Michelle) Sharpe of Ottawa, Jonathan of Acton, Timothy (Shanin) of Perth, and David of Perth. Adored older brother to the late Rosemary `Roz' Whittaker of Midsomer Norton, England. Sadly missed by David Sharpe of Cheltenham. John was a graduate of Nottingham University and the Royal Air Force Reserve Squadron there; veteran of the aerospace industries of England and Canada and for many years instructor of Mechanical Engineering at Ryerson University. Lifelong private pilot, enthusiastic builder of high-flying model aircraft and an ocean-going sailboat in which he, Inge and friends survived a ferocious Atlantic storm.
