The Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study will develop an integrated transportation plan and associated strategies that consider all modes of travel to meet road network challenges up to 2031. The study will identify future projects within the study area. PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE The Town of Halton Hills will be seeking input from the public through a variety of consultation groups and meetings held during the course of the study. An on-line survey has been accessible through the study website since early December and we encourage you to provide us with your input in advance of the first Public Information Centre. The Town is planning to hold two PICs during this study to present findings and solicit your input and comments. At the conclusion of the study, there will be an opportunity to review the Transportation Master Plan report and provide your feedback. The first PIC will be held to present information on the study and solicit feedback from the public on the problems and opportunities and existing conditions. The PIC will be an open-house format, with a presentation to occur at 7 p.m., followed by the opportunity to ask questions of the project team on a one-on-one basis. We encourage those interested in the study to attend. Date: Time: Location: Thursday, February 10, 2011 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Mold-Masters SportsPlex 221 Guelph Street, Georgetown Heritage of Eden Mills On Sunday, February 6, the Eden Mills and District Community Club will once again celebrate the rich history of the village, hosting the popular Eden Mills History Day, at the village hall - the heart of the village. Club president, Chris Wilson said it is important to create a space to share stories and help make history come alive for all ages. Chris's wife, artist and author, Janet Wilson, will be on site with some of her art, including prints of her depictions of the former Bow String Bridge, for sale. Organizer, Barb Marshall, learned to appreciate history from her grandfather, Norman Scott Marshall, who owned and operated Marshall's General Store and Post Office for over forty years (1925 - 1967). Special to the event this year, local, award winning artist, Don Kilby will be on hand to unveil his new historical rendition of the Eden Mills General Store. The subject of his latest work also happens to be his home and studio. Don reflects, "I often pause and imagine the formidable old building in its prime as the centre of the community. Hopefully my painting captures a bit of that presence and charm." Don will have a few prints of his new work available for sale and will also take orders. For Eden Mills History Day, over twenty tables have been reserved to display historical items and photos in the hall. Co-organizer and local historian, Deb Quaile said that the event is an excellent way to visit with old friends, enjoy family and village photo displays, and connect with fellow genealogists. Tea, coffee, juice and homemade baked goods will be offered for sale, to enjoy while swapping stories and soaking up the history. All are invited to come out and learn about the rich history of the village. The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $2. To reserve a table to show your historical pictures or objects contact Barb @barb. marshall1@gmail.com.
