12 Novice Chargers edge Oakville The Acton Medical Urgent Care Clinic Novice Charger Selects travelled to Oakville on Sunday for their second game of the 2011 season. The Charger players were all fired up and looking for redemption after a tough loss in their first game, and came up with a 4-3 win. The first period was filled with end to end action but some tight checking and timely saves by each team's goaltender kept the score deadlocked at 0-0. In the second, the Chargers came out firing right from the drop of the puck when less than a minute into the period, Eric Marrows set up Brady Worthman who found the back of the Oakville net to put the Chargers up 1-0. Just 20 seconds later, Worthman slid another one past the goalie in an unassisted effort to put the chargers up 2-0. Oakville bounced back a few minutes later and scored to close the gap to 2-1. The score remained that way until midway through the third period when Marrows took a pass from Dominic Gear, slipped past the Oakville defense and slid the puck by the goalie to put the Chargers back up by two.
