That was the Town's message as it prepared to deal with what was forecast as a major winter snow storm a storm that did not live up to its billing. On Tuesday, Mayor Rick Bonnette said staff would do their very best to ensure that the roads are maintained for safety. "Everyone is asked to be patient as it may take some time for the ploughs to get to all of our local streets." Bonnette said. The Town clears approximately 900km of roads, 125-km of sidewalks, and 23 municipal parking lots. Winter control is performed in priority sequence beginning with Regional roads, arterial roads, collector roads and then local roads. With heavy snowfall or successive storms, there could be delays in getting to the local roads. Sidewalk snow clearing starts within 12 hours 165 Main St. Rockwood 519-856-0222 of the snow event and is completed within 48 hours. Residents are asked to clear snow away from fire hydrants, not to shovel snow back onto the roadway and to keep garbage and blue boxes off the roads. The Town's parking bylaw bans on-street parking between 2 and 6 a.m. from November to April 15 for night time snow clearing operations. The CHRYSLER · DODGE · JEEP · FIAT LTD.
