Novice Tanners drop two After running their unbeaten streak to 22, the Trendz Hair Studio Novice Acton Tanners finally had an "off" week, losing two in the OMHA playoffs. Last Tuesday, Acton hosted the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils, in their first game of the playoffs. From the drop of the puck, it was a physical battle between the two teams. Acton created many scoring chances early, and continued to pressure the Devils for the first two periods, but was unable to score. The Devils came on strong in the third, and after a few bad bounces they opened the scoring at 12:40, with a second quick goal to make it 2-0. The Devils scored again late in the game, and the Tanners pushed hard in the last three minutes, but fell short and the game ended 3-1. Sunday in Dundas, the Tanners had three goals bounce in off defensemen, and although Acton battled back to a 4-3 score, Dundas beat the Tanners with a 7-3 win. Scoring for Acton were Stuart Macdonald, Evan Ashe and Spencer Booth. Assists went to Gabe Rowsell and Brandon Hatt. Coach Joe Borges was happy with the team effort this week. "We just didn't get the bounces to go our way," he said. The Novice Tanners play at next home on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against Beeton. ACTON INDIAN RIVER DIRECT CITRUS TRUCKLOAD SALE WED.
