THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 2011 THE NEW TANNER 11 Branch no. 197 Legion n ews By Wayne Young P.R.O. The Regional Municipality of Halton www.halton.ca Comrades, Were you one of the lucky ones to see the Dreamboats rock the games room last Saturday? It was a fantastic afternoon, and I am sure they will be returning sometime this summer. With the end of March, does that mean April "snow" showers? One thing we do know is, April promises to be a busy month at the Branch. On Saturday The Acton Air Cadets are holding their 1st ever fundraising dance and silent auction at 8 p.m., in the Main Hall. Tickets are only $15 and the money raised goes to a worthwhile cause. I was in Sobeys last week and saw customers rolling hams down the aisles, and that can only mean one thing. That's right; the "Ham Roll" is now upon us, and will be taking place on Saturday, April 9. Get your friends together and try winning your Easter supper. The festivities get underway at 2 p.m., but the fun does not start until you get there. Friday, April 15 will see 22 new members initiated into your Branch, so why not come down and give our new-found friends a warm Acton welcome and explain all the wonderful things the Legion does for the community? Do you have your tickets for Branch 197's 80th Anniversary dinner and dance to be held April 16? Great food, great friends, great entertainment and a free bus ride home-all this and so much more for only $15. Who could ask for anything more? Pop down to the Branch today as the tickets are in great demand, and I am sure you do not want to miss out on this wonderful evening.
