Detail oriented Making a car exterior and interior look like new is not magic, but it does take a lot of hard work and skill, like those offered by Acton's Trent Toletzka at Clean Rides Inc., which recently opened on Main Street north, behind Yourway Auto. "I just finished detailing a custom Harley (Davidson), and a car I worked on placed third in a classic car show recently," Toletzka said, adding he's always wanted to own a business in his hometown. Along with washing, waxing and detailing, Toletzka offers headlight restoration and window tinting. The official grand opening of Clean Rides Inc., is April 27. Girls Night Out No boys are allowed on Friday, April 8 at the Acton Town Hall Centre for Girls Night Out, a fundraiser for the proposed Citizen's Hall, which is part of the proposed expansion of the facility to include an elevator. Red Cross driver Gerry Gelsing is a life saver To the Editor, I am writing to express my gratitude to Red Cross driver Gerry Gelsing and all of the staff who were there for me last Tuesday morning at Guelph Hospital. My story goes like this: I have been going out of Acton every Tuesday for a series of shots and an epidural. I have severe degenerative disks, so, I go for a series of nerve blocks to try to make life a little easier. Well, this Tuesday, something went seriously wrong. As I was leaving treatment, I was having trouble breathing. The doctor at that time just told me to take a deep breath and I was sent out the door. As we left the city, I got worse as my throat closed in on me, to the point where I could not even inhale, exhale or talk and my heart was pounding. My driver, Gerry Gelsing, took matters into his own hands. I was half-way between the hospital and my home in Acton and Gerry rushed me into the Guelph emergency department where I stayed until 2 p.m. The staff was great and I was immediately placed on a respirator and heart monitor. I was told that I was a very lucky girl, for if it wasn't for Gerry Gelsing and quick actions from Guelph Hospital emergency department staff, I wouldn't be here today. So, all I can say is that life is something you can never take for granted. My name is Barbara Maydaniuk, and I am 50 years old, and because of these people Gerry Gelsing, Red Cross transportation co-ordinator Jackie Stokes, Guelph Hospital staff and partner Artie, I can see my 51st birthday. Thank you all so very much. Barbara Maydaniuk Acton, ON 373 Queen St. E - Unit 1, Acton, Ontario L7J2N2 519-853-0051 · Fax 519-853-0052 thenewtanner@on.aibn.com
