Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness The Acton BIA, in partnership with The Big Daddy Festival and local groups in our community, is proud to introduce "Random Acts of Kindness" week beginning Sunday, June 12 and concluding on Saturday, June 18, with a family picnic in Prospect Park. The week is an invitation for individuals, schools, community groups, service clubs, businesses and churches to join hearts and hands to celebrate our friendly community. Here are a few simple ways to reap the silent rewards of selfless giving: 1. Leave a friendly and anonymous note or sweet treat on a co-workers desk 2. If you have something nice to say, say it! 3. At a drive-through, pay for the order of the car behind you 4. Volunteer for a non-profit organization 5. Smile at a stranger 6. Help someone cross the street 7. Rake a person's yard 8. Return a shopping cart 9. The list is endless... On Saturday, June 18 at 4 p.m., we will congregate in Prospect Park for an old fashioned Family Picnic with each family bringing their own picnic lunch (why not invite someone). There will be family games, face painting, food vendors, entertainment, first round of the Acton Idol Contest and a movie in the park for the entire family to enjoy.
