Dog bite investigation continues Ace, the three-year-old German Shepherd who bit an Acton paperboy, survived a 10-day mandatory isolation and confinement and is now the subject of a Town investigation. Ace unlatched his front door and scratched and bit the 13-year-old victim whose parents called police, the Town and Halton Health Department officials who ordered the dog confined to determine if it had rabies following the June 9 incident. Halton Hills Clerk Suzanne Jones said Town Community Standards Officers will interview the victim and his family within the week, and do a neighbourhood canvass. Several neighbours, all who did not want to be named, reported incidents where Ace had bitten, chased or scared people or another dog. "We follow the Dog Owners Liability Act and the Responsible Pet Owners Bylaw, and there will be a decision made from the officers, depending on the statements given," Jones said on Tuesday. Ace's owner, Marc Butcher, said he is still trying to find a "protective home environment" hopefully in the country for this dog, who he said has unfairly been portrayed as an "evil demon dog."
