The Christ the King sniper scored two goals in the first three minutes of the game to lead the Georgetown team to a 4-0 victory over the previously undefeated M.M. Robinson Rams Monday afternoon at Appleby Ice Centre. Then the 7-1-0 Jaguars moved into first place in the Tier 2 AAA/ AAAA division after a 7-0 trouncing of winless Milton District on Tuesday, one point ahead of the 6-1-1 Rams. Christ the King coach Jim McIntosh would have slotted his team into the highest level Tier 1 division if his goaltending situation was set at the start of the year. "It was a tough decision," said McIntosh. "If I knew we would have (Jessica Hannan) in goal, Tier 1 would have been more appropriate." Hannan showed why, stopping every Robinson scoring opportunity to record the shutout. The Jaguars not only dominated the score sheet, but took 18 of the 27 penalties as well. M.M. Robinson Rams coach Jamie Meyer wasn't overly disappointed with the loss. "We played them tough, but they caught our defence standing still at the start of the game," said Meyer, whose team lost the only other encounter with the Jaguars this season in a tournament setting. Corrie-Ann Ferguson added the third Jaguar goal just 4:24 into the game before the Rams settled down. Taylor Farkas scored the last CTK marker in the second period. Renata Fast and Nicole Misener, two of the Rams' top offensive threats and, according to Meyer, team leaders, were stymied by Hannan. Like the Jaguars' Toale, Fast and Misener use their speed to produce offensive opportunities. In fact, with body contact not allowed in the girls' game, strong skaters flourish. "If you can't skate well at this level, you're doomed," said Meyer. Scoring for the Jaguars versus Milton were Farkas (2), Hannan (2), Courtney Quinn (2), Teri-lynn Digout and Grade 9 student Shelby Smith recorded the shutout. Renata Fast of M.M.
