Police blotter Car strikes man outside bar Early Sunday, Halton Police report a security officer at West 7 nightclub in Norval was struck by a vehicle when he tried to confront a man he was following as he walked to his vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled. The vehicle is described as a four-door blue or black car. The security officer was treated at Georgetown Hospital. The incident occurred between 1:45 and 2:10 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-878-5511 ext. 2456. ··· Police are investigating an assault at West 7 in Norval early Sunday morning. About 2 a.m. a police officer on paid duty was approached by a man in the parking lot who had a visible wound to his mouth. He told the officer he had been struck with a beer bottle. Shortly afterward there was a disturbance related to the assault in the parking lot involving several intoxicated patrons. The injured man, 20, of Georgetown, was treated and released at Georgetown Hospital. ··· Police report two suspicious males were seen in a vehicle at a Fourth Line home about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. A neighbour noticed a silver or light green Honda Accord parked at the residence. One of the males was seen outside of the car checking out the house. They fled when they were scared off by a dog. Police remind area residents to call police if they see any suspicious activity, and when homeowners go out, to ensure their windows and doors are locked. ··· A Halton Hills man was charged after police stopped a driver in a RIDE spot check on Guelph St. about 1 a.m. Thursday. The driver refused to provide police with a breath sample. Charged with failing to provide a breath sample is Russell Attree, 25. ··· Police responded to an alarm at a Trafalgar Rd. residence about 3 a.m. Thursday. A storage garage had been entered and a two-door Honda Civic, valued at $10,000 had been stolen. The door of the garage had been damaged to gain entry. ··· An Acton woman was charged in connection with a shoplifting incident at WalMart in Georgetown Market Place about 1:30 p.m. last Tuesday. Police say a woman was seen putting stationery items in her purse, then left the store without paying. She was apprehended by store security and turned over to police.
