Some of the animals that have been helped through the Fund are: · Lava, the black Labrador Retriever. Just prior to going to his forever home he developed a baseball sized lump above his left eye. Diagnosis was an abscess which required draining, flushing, and sutures. He remained at the Shelter for an extra few weeks with a drainage shunt through his cheek. · Chinook, the anorexic husky cross. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis. After a month of trial and error his medications and diet were blended and he started putting on weight. · Mocha, the rabbit required an incisor extraction. · Freddy (now Hunter), Gunner, and Jasper-- the pointer puppies. Each one needed a different surgery after being rescued from a harrowing situation. One puppy needed hip surgery, one dental surgery (all had been eating wood) and one eye surgery. · Genevieve was the cat that was shot with a pellet gun in the eye and specialized surgery not only saved her eye but took away the pain. · Tyler, the cat came in as a dirty and matted stray. His teeth were infected and he required dental surgery. · Chip needed teeth extracted · Bella needed a tooth extracted · Diesel required tibial plateau leveling UCHS seeks funds to replenish Trooper's Fund for needy animals Hit by a car and left by the side of the road, Demetrius's surgeries were paid for through the UCHS Trooper Fund. osteotomy surgery.
