LNH can help with computer basic training starting in April Computers... are you recently unemployed and need some computer basic training? Literacy North Halton is announcing a new Workplace Essential Skills training program that is now available to adults looking for employment. Individuals can apply to attend one of several courses starting the first week of April for three hour sessions once a week for 10 weeks. Daytime and evening classes will be offered in Georgetown, Acton and Milton. Computer literacy is now considered an essential skill for anyone wanting to get back to work. Come and learn an essential skill and get yourself back into the workplace. This course is open to adults who have no previous experience or very little knowledge of computers and would benefit from a small group learning environment with one-on-one assistance. The hottest competition in town is for the coveted Grate Groan-Up Spelling Bee trophy in the Literacy North Halton's Grate Groan Up Spelling Bee Dinner and Silent Auction on Thursday, May 6. It will be held at Halton Hills Banquet hall, 3090 Steeles Avenue West, Milton. This is an old-fashioned spelling bee with a twist! Teams of three from local businesses and groups work together to correctly spell their words, in support of a great cause-- literacy upgrading for adults in our community.
