NOTICE OF FIRST PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT MISSISSAUGA ROAD / OLD MAIN STREET (RR # 1) AND BUSH STREET (RR#11) IMPROVEMENTS FROM OLDE BASE LINE ROAD (RR # 12) TO WINSTON CHURCHILL BOULEVARD (RR # 19) The Study The Regional Municipality of Peel is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for improvements on Mississauga Road/Old Main Street and Bush Street from Olde Base Line Road to Winston Churchill Boulevard. The study is required to address potential structural and geometric improvements to Mississauga Road/Old Main Street and Bush Street. No road widening to accommodate additional lanes is proposed in this area. The approximate limits of the study area are illustrated on the map. The Process The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for a Schedule "C" project as described in the Municipal Engineers Association's Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) document (October 2000, as amended in 2007). The Class EA process will include public review and agency consultation, an evaluation of road improvement alternatives, an assessment of the potential environmental effects of the proposed improvements, and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse impacts. Public Information Centre Public consultation is vital to this study. We want to ensure that all stakeholders with an interest in this study have the opportunity to get involved and provide input. As part of this study, three Public Information Centers (PICs) will be held, with the first PIC scheduled for: Thursday, April 8, 2010 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Belfountain Community Centre 17204 Main St. Belfountain The PIC will consist of an informal drop-in centre with display information on the study findings to date which will include study background information and identified problems and opportunities.
