In Focus, June, 2010 4 Letter from In Focus For the last few winters, my dad and I have had a standing date on Friday night. Every week, we jump in the car, head over to the rink and curl. Together. On the same team. Now, anyone who has met Ron Lefebvre (my dad) knows he's a pretty competitive guy. As for me...well, not so much. My dad and I are hit-and-miss when we curl together. On our own, we're both pretty good curlers, but when we're put together we're either really, really good or absolutely awful. In the beginning, our on-and-off approach frustrated my dad. But now when Ron and Andrea have a bad game, he blames "Don" and "Angela", our bad-curling alter egos. I'm not sure how or why it started, but using "Don" and "Angela" as scapegoats means I don't have to endure longwinded "why were we so bad tonight?" rants on the drive home anymore, so I'm all for it. On behalf of myself, "Angela," and all the other kids and alter egos out there, I would like to wish a Happy Father's Day to Ron, "Don" and all the dads who drive us to our games, recitals and practices. June promises to be a busy one with lots of festivals, farmers' markets and fundraisers. If you see one of our photographers while you're out and about, be sure to come up and say hi. You could see yourself in our next issue! In this edition, you'll find dozens of photos from a variety of local events, including plant sales, showcases, makeovers, school fundraiser and the newly renamed Halton Hills Fireworks Festival. If you have an event coming up and you'd like us to be there, let me know. We want to hear from you! Happy June! Our emotional boundaries house our feelings, thoughts, beliefs and desires. When we let others cross our boundaries or don't set appropriate limits, we don't honour who we are. In this workshop, you will learn to identify your boundaries and how they impact your relationships. We will discuss how to develop healthy boundaries in order to create healthier relationships in your life.
