How does a supposed man of God-- a Yemeni Muslim cleric-- justify calling for the killing of American civilians? How is it there are so many contraband cigarettes-- by some estimates nearly 50 per cent-- smoked in Ontario? How does Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff plan to improve his image-- which has him ranked dead last among party leaders in likeability-- before the next election? Why has Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his party opened the door, even a little bit, to letting abortion once again become a hot-button topic? How do we go from having no summer last year to having summer in May this year? John Northey, Georgetown take expense stand Verses on MPs' purses Dear editor, I would like to know where Wellington-Halton Hills MP Michael Chong stands on the expenses issue. Right now all four parties in Parliament have agreed on just one thing-- to hide from the auditor general what their expenses are. This is completely unacceptable, especially from the Conservatives who ran on `cleaning up' corruption. If there is nothing to hide, then Mr. Chong should push for expenses to be made public and put his expenses on his website ASAP so anyone in our riding can see them. If there is nothing to hide, great-- I'd have more respect for Mr. Chong. If he refuses to show or fight to make them public for all MPs then I would have to wonder just what is in those expenses. Since this involves federal politics I will point out that I am the current president of the Green Party EDA for Wellington-Halton Hills as that could bias my viewpoint on Dear editor, Strangely on the news today, Miss Frazer couldn't get her way. Because of these situations they cannot afford the foods needed to provide a healthy diet. The Georgetown Bread Basket will feed about 250 families this year giving out about 150,000 pounds of food. We urge our citizens, agencies and organizations to unite on June 1 on National Hunger Awareness Day and support the work of the food bank in meeting food security needs of hungry children, youth and families in the Georgetown area. To accomplish this life-saving service, we must continue to work as a team. We know we can count on the citizens of Georgetown.
