12 Independent & Free Press, Tuesday,June 8, 2010 SPORTS & LEISURE So much for the battle of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Jr. B unbeaten teams. The Halton Hills Bulldogs were overrun 13-10 by a strong Newmarket Saints' side last Thursday in Georgetown, handing the hosts their first loss in 13 regular-season starts. Coach Blaine McCauley said his canine crew may have been guilty of looking ahead to this Thursday's clash with the 160-0 Green Gaels of Clarington in Bowmanville, but the 11-4-0 Saints had plenty of motivation, having been eliminated by Halton Hills from the past two post-seasons. Brendan MacDonald (3), Jordan Dance, Connor Sellars, Peter Laidlaw, Seth Laidlaw, Tyler Ferreira, Jayson Craw- First setback of season for `Dogs ford and Shane Scott scored for the hosts, who will visit Toronto tonight (Tuesday) to take on the Beaches. Halton Hills got back into the win column Saturday with an 11-2 trouncing of guest Huntsville. Justin Reid and Mike Licata had hat-tricks for the 'Dogs, with Dance, Sellars, call-up Jamie Batten, Ferreira and Crawford finding net. The Bulldogs beefed up their offence Sunday by picking up 20-year-old Dylan Gilbert, a former 30-goal scorer with the Oakville Jr. B Buzz. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Mississauga resident is the son of former NHLer Greg Gilbert and had eight goals and 18 assists in 10 games with the Buzz this season.
