The Municipal Elections Compliance Audit Committee will review an application for a compliance audit from an elector who believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate has contravened a provision of the Municipal Elections Act relating to election campaign finances. Qualifications: a) be at least 18 years of age; b) a resident of the Town of Caledon; c) a Canadian Citizen; d) have a financial or legal background and experience; e) previous experience on a committee, task force or tribunal would be an asset. The following individuals will be excluded from membership to the committee: a) employees or officers of the Town of Caledon; b) members of Town of Caledon council; c) any persons who are candidates in the election for which the committee is established or family members or employees of same or any person connected to a candidate through an employment, contractual, business or partnership relationship; d) any person who is or intends to volunteer or seek employment to assist any candidate in the election for which the committee is established; or e) a current elected member of a municipal council, or of a provincial or federal legislature. Remuneration: $100.00 per meeting.
