Photo by Ted Brown Car show promises a `Classic' day of fun Father's Day would not be the same year after year for car enthusiasts from far afield without the everpopular event-- Classics Against Cancer-- one of the largest juried events held in Ontario. What a great way to spend Father's Day with the whole family. This year, as in the past, the 23rd annual event is held in beautiful Cedarvale Park situated a mere 10 minutes walk from Downtown Georgetown in Halton Hills. Several thousand people usually attend to view the approximately 300 cars on display. The gates open at 7:30 a.m. and you can be rest assured there will be a line up already. Cars from the early 1900s to 1980 will parade in to the park. After the vehicles are registered everyone is invited to enjoy a pancake breakfast. The parade of cars entering the field will consist of wonderful antique cars, powerful muscle cars of the '60s and '70s, a selection of Corvettes and Mustangs and many more. There is even a special section for newer than 1980 cars. Lowered Intentions is where you can show off that 1995 Honda Civic, or Subaru that is loaded and rally ready. Organizers are not forgetting your brand new Charger or Corvette. Even if you have a drop-dead, mind-blowing, fully-loaded 300 R/T they are all welcome in this expanding section. Any questions just check their website www loweredintentions.ca There will be 18 classes for judging purposes covering more than 80 years of automobiles. Those who have been before may return to show off their previous winnings or even winnings from other events. The owners of these great vehicles are very proud and love to show them.
