Carefree, charismatic Carlos needs a new family... Carlos is a two-year-old husky cross, brown and white with riveting husky blue eyes, weighing in at 52 lbs. Carlos arrived at the Shelter as a stray, background unknown, but is housebroken, has his basics which he produces on cue especially when tempted with a tasty treat. Carlos displays medium energy and the dog walkers love to walk him admiring his excellent leash manners even when exercising by a busy highway. Husky mixes do inherit the call YOU AND YOUR PET Pet of the Month of the wild so Carlos will need a fully fenced yard and would be happiest 11 Scoreboard, Thursday, July 15, 2010 as an "only" needing the full scope of your love and attention for himself. A stay-at-home family would be ideal, or a person who will be home for part of the day enabling him to soak up as much of your most needed love and attention. Carlos is a grand little chap who will add much joy to a new family. Interested prospective adopters for Carlos can call the Shelter at 519-8332287 or e-mail adoptions@uppercredit. com CARLOS Stories by Judith-Anne Kolu, Upper Credit Humane Society volunteer ... and pretty Maui wants a new family too Hi there my name is Maui. I am a female 8-year -old Australian shepherd/ border collie cross, and am told I am an attractive "tricolour". I find myself a little bewildered as I had a home for many years where I was more or less left to my own devices, and now that I am older I have been thrown away. I am housebroken, gentle with children who would be gentle with me, good with dogs, and have my basic commands and am not hyper or demanding. I am also told that 75 lbs means "plump" but as I am good on leash I am hoping my new family will exercise me more to streamline my figure. I was pretty much left to my own devices with the other resident canine and will look for a family to love me enough to show me what is acceptable in my new home. I am eager and ready to learn. The caregivers say I am a sweet gentle girl and would be excellent for anyone who wants a quieter companion with lots of potential to make my new life my forever life just give me loving guidance and everything will fall into place. I am quietly waiting to meet you at the Shelter. Come soon. Call 519-833-2287 or e-mail adoptions@uppercredit.com MAUI Two years and waiting...Muskoka and Kokanee still looking for separate homes Last written about in October 2009...the girls are still sadly with us. Two years old of nothing but shelter living and they are still so loving, and present as happy and adorable. Visiting the girls you are given greetings which involve purrs, kisses and furry affection which shows what stoic little souls these girls possess. Sisters yes, but they happily live their lives in different rooms at the Shelter. Muskoka, Kokanee and Brava (quickly adopted) arrived as triplets, abandoned at the shelter door as kittens approximately two years ago. They are identical, completely white with light grey tabby blazes just on the tops of their heads. Muskoka and Kokanee are confident and love to greet visitors looking for attention, following behind you and batting your arm to get it. They want to sit on laps for one on one affection and think it is their job to follow staff around the room during cleanup meowing for attention. We are confident that Muskoka and Kokanee will make very loving family cats once they are resettled and comfortable with their new families... they have resisted depression during their long stay and are upbeat and optimistic which makes their long wait even more unexplainable! Muskoka and/or Kokanee are ready and eager to begin their travels to your home...call the Shelter 519-8933-2287 or e-mail adoptions @uppercredit.com to meet one or both of these delightful girls.
