Tabulator Operators: Responsible for assisting voters with putting ballots through the tabulator, ensure ballots are accurately tabulated, and ensure tabulator is working properly at all times. Garage sale to raise funds for Backpack Program Links2Care launched a new program this year to help meet the needs of lower income families in our community. The Backpack Program will provide backpacks and school supplies to elementary school aged children in Halton Hills. Applications are available at the local food banks and Links2Care offices at 36 Armstrong Ave., Georgetown, and 47 Mill St. E., Acton. The deadline for receiving applications is July 30. If you would like to sponsor a backpack you can make a donation of $50, which will cover the cost of school supplies and shoes for one child. On Saturday, July 24, Links2Care and the Brampton and area Real Estate Board are holding a garage sale to raise funds for the program. The sale takes place 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Links2Care at 36 Armstrong Avenue, Georgetown. You can also support the program by purchasing Backpack Program raffle tickets. There are 10 great prizes in total including a single installed garage door, cell phone, and a spa package. Tickets are $3 each or four for $10. The draw will take place October 1.
