Kalman was not injured in the crash, police and Fergus-based Vandermarel Trucking Ltd. owner Andy Vandermarel said. "He's OK (but) very shook up," Vandermarel said Tuesday, noting Kalman was driving a load of commercial glass to Toronto for the firm when the collision occurred. Vandermarel wouldn't comment on the circumstances of the crash, noting the investigation is in police hands. But he said when authorities checked the rig Monday, they found no malfunction. "There was no defect with our equipment," Vandermarel said. Rolfe's wife Lynda said her husband worked as a landscaper with Douglas Wood Large Tree Service of Rockwood and was likely heading back to the company's shop when the collision occurred. She said the couple has lived in Acton for approximately 30 years and that her husband was originally from Newfoundland. Rolfe was a Legion member and enjoyed hunting and fishing, she said. "If you were his friend or family he loved you, no matter what," said Lynda. "He would do anything for you." Rolfe is survived by wife Lynda, mother Doris and late father Robert Rolfe of Point Leamington, Newfoundland and several siblings, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Blue Springs Funeral Home in Acton today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Associate Members tribute at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at the Salvation Army Church in Acton tomorrow (Friday) at 2 p.m. with cremation to follow. The crash closed Wellington Road 124 for about seven hours as police investigated.
