At its August meeting, Halton Hills council awarded the tender for the Acton Fire Station expansion to Vema Corp of Burlington. The 1,660 sq. ft. expansion will cost $410,190, and will include a Heritage Museum, fitness room, replacement of the roof and the heating and ventilation system for the office area of the existing building. The Museum will house many artifacts owned by the Town and the Acton Firefighters Association, including a 1927 Studebaker fire truck. The Association is contributing $41,000 to the building's construction cost.
