Black Creek Animal Hospital, located at the corner of Fourth Line and Highway 7 in Acton, provides a client-based veterinary practice. "Since the minute we opened, business has been very steady," says Dr. Debbie Hrynkiw, who owns and operates the clinic with her vet school classmate Dr. Renée Jones. For now, Hrynkiw is the clinic's main veterinarian while Jones is on maternity leave. Both women graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph and spent time working in Acton before opening the Black Creek Animal Hospital. Full-time veterinary technician Lisa Marshall and part-time vet tech/ receptionist Lindsay Lord make up the rest of the clinic staff. Black Creek Animal Hospital provides a variety of veterinary services for small animals like cats, dogs and rabbits. Services include vaccinations, wellness exams, surgery, medical consultations, dental care, radiology, intensive care and both in-house and outside laboratories. The hospital is 3,400 square feet and is divided into various rooms, including a quiet room where pet owners can ask questions, make phone calls, visit patients or say goodbye. Upon arrival, clients will notice ceramic tile floors and walls adorned with pet photography. Black Creek Animal Hospital is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and every other Saturday (until Jones returns from maternity leave) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call Dr. Debbie Hrynkiw (left) and Dr. Renée Jones are joined by `Indy' as they recently opened Black Creek Animal Hospital, 519-929-9308 or visit the clinic's soon-to-be-launched located at the corner of Hwy 7 and the Fourth Line, just east of Acton.
