Three patches of about 1,500 plants ready to be harvested were discovered in an area south of Steeles Avenue and Sixth Line near the Milton/Halton Hills border, said police at an on-site news conference Friday afternoon. This discovery-- and subsequent eradication-- came on the heels of a number of growop discoveries made by Halton police over the past few weeks in response to a police request for tips from the public. "This particular operation is quite sophisticated," Halton Dep. Chief Bob Percy told reporters, standing in front of one of the patches of tall plants.
