"Talking with the people from ovarian cancer, which was a hidden cancer, nine years ago their first walk started with one woman and raised $1,000," he noted. "Today, their walk generates $2.5 million and it's a cancer that's very well known now. We're trying to follow their blueprint." Moon quit smoking immediately after being diagnosed and changed his diet. He continues to work full-time along with his volunteer duties for CBCAN. "There have been times over the last year that I said to myself, `Is this all worth it? It's like hockey all over again. Now it's a job,'" he laughed. "But there's a lot of satisfaction when you can help someone and there's not a week that goes by that we don't help someone. Whether it's getting a second opinion or just calming them down.
