It's International Migratory Bird Day at the Willow Park Ecology Centre, 1-4 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 3. Birds help us by pollinating flowers and feed on insects and rodents that eat crops. The goal of this day is to raise awareness of the issues and obstacles faced by migratory birds and to discover how people can help us. Become a citizen scientist by learning how you can participate in an international study of birds with Bird Studies Canada's Project Feederwatch, try a cup of shade-grown coffee and learn how you can help to conserve bird habitat with every mug. There will be fun and games for all ages including a bird scavenger hunt.
