Acton Seniors Centre is in planning stages for June play By JULIE CONROY Acton Seniors Centre Next Tuesday (Nov. 2) at 1 p.m. the movie will be The Back Up Plan, a new release starring Jennifer Lopez. About 80 attended the joint Georgetown and Acton Seniors Dance on Friday at the Acton Legion, and everyone enjoyed the music and getting to meet new people. Hopefully we will have another in 2011 in either late April or early May, depending on the calendars of each Centre. The fundraising committee has a very exciting project in the planning stages at the moment. Bev Jones and Maianna Fitzgerald are producing a play, Waiting for the Parade. It will be held in the beautifully restored Old Town Hall in June 2011. They will be looking for volunteers for set design, lighting and sound. They are hoping to find several younger girls between the ages of 23-35, hopefully with some acting experience. They will be holding auditions next month. Our condolences to his wife Annie and his family. It was nice to see familiar faces reminiscing with friends on Saturday in the Elizabeth Dr. Apartments common room, sharing memories about Isabel Nicholls. There were many stories shared about the life of a very feisty lady. She will be missed. The 50/50 was not won again this week, so the total next week should be around $200.
