With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Steve, on Friday, November 12th, 2010 at the Georgetown Hospital at the age of 73. He died the same way he lived, surrounded by family and with strength and courage. Born in Hungary, on December 21st, 1936, Steve escaped to Austria in 1957, during the Hungarian Revolution, and arrived in Canada to build a new life. Upon retirement, Steve was a volunteer driver for Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills for 12 years. Steve lived life with passion, enjoying gardening, cards, music, dancing and trips to Florida. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Sandra, his daughters, Lori, (David Tom), Kim, and Andrea, (Roman Ilekys), his grandchildren, Christina, (Jordan Kolisniak), Chelsea and Michael, his step-mother, Ilona, sister Jutka, (Gyula Torok), in Budapest, and his many close friends with whom he shared decades of memories.
