Local actress fulfills dream in Globe's Into the Woods 7 Independent & Free Press, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 It's taken 17 years but she's finally done it. Jennifer Marshall is happily preparing for the role of "Little Red" (otherwise known as, Little Red Riding Hood) in Globe's Into the Woods. It is a role that she has wanted to do since 1993-- the last time Globe mounted the Tony-award winning musical. But Marshall wasn't considered for the role then-- she was only 11 after all. Marshall always wanted to be onstage. Her older siblings, Craig and Shannon, were actively involved in musical theatre at school and with Globe, and wanting to be a part of it, Marshall got her start with Globe shows in 1994, at the age of 12, as a townsperson in The Music Man. "I loved every minute of it. It JENNIFER was so exciting to finally be onMARSHALL stage!" says Marshall. Since then, Marshall has been involved in countless Globe shows including: 42nd Street (she loves to tap dance), Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Crazy for You (in which her brother made his directorial debut), Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, and more. Marshall has taken an active interest in all aspects of musical theatre both onstage and behind the scenes. She currently serves as vice-president on the Globe board and over the years has co-directed, produced, written, choreographed, managed props and more. Into the Woods runs Nov. 19-27 at the John Elliott Theatre in Georgetown. For tickets: www.haltonhills.ca/theatre or 905-877-3700. By Cory Soal R.H.A.D. . . . Lend Me Your Ears CHARITY BBQ!
