Dozens of local families celebrated the first day of Christmas break on December 18 by strapping on their skates and heading over to the Mold-Masters SportsPlex for the Georgetown Skating Club's Annual Christmas Skate-a-thon. Kids and adults of all ages took to the ice for a fun morning of skating where they were joined by members of the Georgetown Skating Club and, direct from the North Pole, Santa Claus himself. In the spirit of the season, volunteers collected food bank donations and sold raffle and 50/50 tickets to raise funds for the club. After enjoying a delicious and festive holiday meal, kids and their parents got crafty at the art table, decorated tasty gingerbread cookies and shared their Christmas wishes with Santa. A portion of the proceeds from the brunch were donated to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Bon appétit!
