9 In Focus, January, 2011 on Main Downtown Georgetown businesses got in the holiday spirit on December 2 for the annual Holiday Magic on Main celebration. The sound of Christmas carols filled the air as families toasted marshmallows, sipped hot chocolate, climbed aboard for horse-drawn wagon rides and enjoyed the infamous Downtown Georgetown hospitality. The Lions Club's hot chocolate and cookie table was a very popular stop on that chilly December evening. Torin, Sophie and Lila Martin enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Christmas while making a gingerbread house at the Acton Town Hall Centre. Jaidyn Longpre, Natalie Longpre, Nicholis Longpre and Ryan Cropper thank the horses for all their hard work. Acton was transported back in time on December 11 when the town celebrated An Olde Fashioned Christmas. The afternoon started with a community carol sing with special guests Santa and the Acton Citizens Band. The festivities continued with good old-fashioned entertainment like horse-drawn wagon rides, gingerbread house decorating at the Acton Town Hall Centre and a dramatic reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
