JOIN FUTURE SCHOLAR'S Inquest into worker's death is set for Feb. 7 in Oakville The inquest into the death of Shiv Karwal, a North York man who died after falling through an opening in the ceiling in an industrial building under construction on Fifth Line, north of Steeles Aveneu in July 2008 will be held next month. The inquest is expected to last two to three days and will begin 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7 at Quality Suites, 754 Bronte Rd., Oakville. Dr. Shane Teper will preside as inquest coroner and Richard GarwoodJones will be counsel to the coroner. The inquest will examine the events surrounding the 44-year-old North York man's death. He was inspecting ductwork when he fell through the opening in the ceiling to the concrete floor 40 ft. below. The inquest jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
