Members are needed to serve on Georgetown Seniors Centre board By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre A sold-out crowd took part in our Valentine's Tea on February 14. After playing several games, we went to Sunset Lodge to watch them open their Valentines (Drama Club skit). Here we learned about Prince Charming. We closed off our afternoon with cake and tea. Thank you to all who helped with set up, in the kitchen, and with clean up. Thanks also to Chartwell Retirement Homes for donating the cake. It was delicious. Tuesday sandwich and Thursday soup, crackers, tea/coffee lunches are going well. Drop in on one or both of those days for lunch. You are always welcome to bring a friend. This will be my last reminder of the AGM on March 1 at 1 p.m. It is your opportunity to share in the business of the Centre, now, and in the future. We are still looking for more names to put forth for positions on the Board of Directors. There are two spots to fill. Prior to the AGM you will be able to purchase a sandwich lunch. Room 11 will be set up cafe style. The Drama Club are planning their "Beat the Winter Blues" lunch for Monday, March 14 at noon. They serve delicious homemade Irish stew (beef only), roll, dessert, coffee/tea for $8. This is another popular event at the Centre so you will need to purchase your ticket early from Reception. No tickets available at the door on the day of the event. Open to everyone. Looking for a great day out? Come and join the Day Trippers for lunch at the Mandarin Restaurant in Brampton. After lunch we travel to Theatre Orangeville for a comedy, "Harvester". Date is Wednesday April 13. Cost $84 and includes deluxe motor coach, lunch, theatre tickets, and all gratuities. Open to anyone 55+. Please contact me at 905-873-1210.
