For 35 years the club has used the proceeds from the sale to give scholarships to excelling high school graduates going on to university or college. Last year eight students received scholarships ranging from $600 to $750 each. For many years Young's Pharmacy donated its huge basement for the club's book sorts. Georgetown Terminal Warehouse has provided a new book sort space, which is located across from Wastewise.
