14 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, May 5, 2011 THANK YOU GEORGETOWN! On behalf of Debbie Knoepfli, Charlie, Michael, Matthew and Graham would like to thank Family and Friends for helping out in this very difficult time. We would also like to thank the following groups for their hard work and contributions. · · · · · · · · The Rebel Family (GDHS) The Rebel Hockey Team Emerald Isle Georgetown Market Place JV Clothing Trendz Hair Salon Kelsey's TD Canada Trust · · · · · · · Downtown Spa A &W Bino Dalli Sherry Louth & Gail McGourty The Cellar Restaurant The Gems Hockey Team The Ovenden Family Mike Holmes to attend M&M Charity Day here This year, M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day in Georgetown on Saturday, May 7, is being supported by Amanda Holmes, daughter of Mike Holmes, "Canada's Most Trusted Contractor" and sufferer of Crohn's disease. There are more than 200,000 Canadian men, women and children suffering from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, two similar yet distinct diseases commonly referred to as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). There is no known cause or cure. The national goal is to raise $1.6 million for the non-profit Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC). Amanda was diagnosed with Crohn's as a teenager. The Knoepfli's are very proud to call Georgetown, Home. "My dad is an expert at home renovation and construction," says Amanda. "But when I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease even he didn't have the tools to fix me. At this point, nobody does and that's why both of us are proud to support the CCFC. M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ is an important way to raise funds and awareness for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis." "There are few things harder than seeing your child in pain," says Mike Holmes. "I appreciate every dollar donated to the CCFC." The BBQ will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Mike and Amanda on-site between noon and 1 p.m. at M&M Meat Shops, 211 Guelph St., Georgetown. r e m m Su Signup! Tour our wonderful facility!
