That was the day the Georgetown man's neurologist told him and his wife Susan Anderson that he had ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)-- a progressively paralyzing and fatal neuromuscular disease-- also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. "It was shocking and surreal," said Murray, 46. "You don't believe it's really happening. We knew something was wrong but I don't think you're ever prepared to hear that." In the past 12 months we've come to the conclusion Halton Hills residents want a site that focuses specifically on Halton Hills news and information-- first and foremost. That's why we have launched theIFP.ca website-- Halton Hills' primary web source for local news. The site is easier to navigate and, while we will still report on Halton events affecting local residents, site visitors will not have to navigate through stories from our sister Halton papers to find Halton Hills news. In short, the site offers all the advertising and news features InsideHalton.com did, but is a Halton Hills-only site. Readers of the newspaper may also notice we have redesigned our front page to add a bit of colour to our banner and we've altered the way we highlight stories inside. We hope you like the changes. Scott Murray, pictured here with his two children Ben and Sarah, was recently diagnosed with ALS. He and his wife Susan have been taking it "one day at a time" since his diagnosis in November. The Murray family, along with other relatives and friends, will be taking part in the upcoming Acton/Georgetown Walk for ALS at Gellert Community Centre Saturday, June 4 at 9 a.m. Photo by Lisa Tallyn -RLQ XV IRU D WULEXWH WR WKH LFRQLF 0; 0LDWD 6KRZ 6KLQH Quality & Service You Can Count On! 332 Guelph Street, Georgetown (Across from Canadian Tire) $&+,//(6 0$='$ 2I 0LOWRQ 6WHHOHV $YH 0LOWRQ 21 /7 ; Vi s i t o u r s h o w r o o m -XQH WK (YHQWV 6WDUW # $0 ZLWK D 7ULOOLXP &OXE 0HHWLQJ &KDULW\ %%4 VWDUWV # $0 ZZZDFKLOOHVPD]GDFD LQIR#DFKLOOHVPD]GDFD 3KRQH 3KRQH 7ROO IUHH )D[ · your window & door professionals · 905-702-0885 www.bathstudio .ca 341 Guelph St., Unit 3 Georgetown 905.873.0236 www.buy-wise.ca info@buy-wise.ca · awarded readers choice 16 times ·
