The money will go toward expansion of the hospital's ER department and renovations in Diagnostic Imaging Department. "The Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association's commitment to their community hospital is truly astonishing," said K.C. Carruthers, Executive Director Georgetown Hospital Foundation. "They were the first ones to commit at a leadership level to this important expansion project and they did so with such enthusiasm and grit. We will be honoured to recognize their support by naming the Women's Health Suite in the new Diagnostic Imaging Department in their honour." The donation was made last month but only announced officially last week. GHVA president Marie Carney said this is the largest amount the association has ever pledged. "The expansion of the Emergency Department and the renovations in the Diagnostic Imaging Department is needed, and this was the perfect opportunity for the Association to set a significant goal that will really make an impact on the future of the hospital," said Carney.
