"The Georgetown Lions have been there from the beginning," says Lions President Al Watt. "An earlier generation of Georgetown Lions raised money to build the Hospital 50 years ago and now it is our turn to help build the new ER and fund a CT scanner to assist the hospital care for a community that has grown significantly over the years." The Campaign for Georgetown Hospital is Georgetown Hospital Foundation's biggest ever fundraising drive and will help to fund construction of a new 14,000 sq. ft. Emergency Department-- double the size of the existing department. Featured in the expansion will be the acquisition of Georgetown Hospital's first CT scanner, eliminating the need to transport patients who require a scan to other nearby hospitals. In addition, the Diagnostic Imaging Department will be transformed in a larger space-- consolidating services that are currently located outside the department and improving the quality of care the hospital provides to its patients. "We are honoured to have this support from the Georgetown Lions Club," said Foundation Chair Laurent Thibault. "The Lions have shown tremendous leadership over the years as one of the hospital's biggest supporters. I find it quite fitting to see them lead the way in our campaign with such a significant pledge from a highly-respected service club in our community." The Georgetown Lions Club raises a significant portion of their funds through a bingo licence operating out of Brampton. www.applebysystems.ca Laser Hair Removal Now Offering: Reiki, Reflexology and Aromatherapy.
