12 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, July 14, 2011 The Arthritis Society urgently needs volunteers A world without arthritis. That is the vision of The Arthritis Society, the reason for the countless hours of selfless devotion from its volunteers. September is Arthritis Awareness Month and every year, the Arthritis Society Halton-Peel branch holds its annual residential campaign to raise funds to support vital research, education and community-based support. This year, the branch is in urgent need of 25 volunteers to canvass their neighbours, friends and family this September. Also needed are motivated team leaders to co-ordinate and assist canvassers in their community. Just a few hours of your time can provide the muchneeded funds to continue breakthrough research and make a difference in the lives of 1.8 million Ontario arthritis suffers, young and old. For more information, or to register as a volunteer, please contact Owen Ou at 905-4556273 ext. 221.
