Halton Hills firefighters responded to the Kiwanis Field at Georgetown District High School just after midnight Saturday to put out five separate fires on the field. In Georgetown, Lawlor Cr. resident Maria Vicente said about 1:55 p.m. she was working at her computer when she felt her keyboard shake as a result of tremors from the 5.8 magnitude quake. "The shelves attached to the desk were shaking too," said Vicente, who called downstairs to her son Richard who also felt the quake. "My son said it felt like the house was shaking," she said. It lasted only a couple of seconds. She assumed it was a truck going by until she heard about the quake. She called her office-- GMA Chartered Accountants on Main St. S. in Georgetown-- to see if they experienced the shaking.
