Photo by Jon Borgstrom Local man, 21, killed in early morning crash By LISA TALLYN Staff Writer A 21-year-old Georgetown man, described by his father as someone who was "always happy and smiling, and willing to help anyone" was killed early Saturday morning in a single-car crash on Tenth Line, south of 22 Sideroad. Halton Regional Police did not release the name of the man, but The Independent & Free Press has learned the victim was Brett Clemance. Police were called to Tenth Line shortly after 5 a.m. after receiving a report from rural homeowners about a crash at the foot of their driveway. Responding emergency crews found that a blue Honda had struck a tree. Clemance was found unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by Halton EMS paramedics. Sgt. Paul Davies of the Halton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit said police have determined that Clemance wasn't wearing a seatbelt. He wasn't ejected from the car, Davies said. "This is a tragic circumstance where had the individual been wearing a seatbelt he quite possibly could have walked away from this collision," said Davies.
