Library to launch six-week community-wide book club Have you ever thought about how nice it would be to join a book club? How about a really big book club-- one that the whole community could join? Wouldn't that be great? You could bump into your neighbour at the grocery store and discuss chapter three, or discuss chapter four while waiting for the kids at the bus stop! One Book One Halton Hills is just that-- a six-week-long program of events designed to get all of Halton Hills reading. We are kicking off our inaugural year of this program with a title that holds special significance for our community: Midnight at the Dragon Café by former Acton resident Judy Fong Bates. Judy herself will be coming to visit Halton Hills to read from this book and others she has written. The reading will take place at the Acton Branch Library on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free and are available at both the Georgetown and Acton Branches. You can bring along your own copy of Midnight at the Dragon Cafe, or purchase one that evening, and have it signed. But that's not all! Next time you're at your library, pick up a One Book BINGO card.
