5 In Focus, October, 2011 Street Hockey Party The residents of Georgetown's Callaghan Crescent neighbourhood celebrated the Labour Day long weekend in a truly Canadian way: with a giant street hockey party. For the last nine years, two teams have gone head-to-head in an intense street hockey game in hopes of winning the prestigious Callaghan Cup. This year, the neighbourhood took on members of the Junior A Raiders in a tough battle that ended with the Raiders hoisting the cup. The street party also included games, prizes donated by local businesses, a bouncy castle, a bike parade, a bonfire and a big barbecue. What a great way to end the summer!
